  • Job Title/Location:Trainee Financial Control Accountant, Surrey/WFH
  • Salary:£25,000 + bonus + pension + free parking + ACCA/CIMA study support
  • Office/WFH:Office based 1 day per week (Epsom), the rest is WFH after training is complete
  • Requirements:You will need to have a relevant degree (Finance, Accounting, Business Administration), advanced MS Excel skills and strong communication skills
  • Role Snapshot:Management/monitoring of our clients’ mortgage pools, managing daily cash sweeps between subsidiaries, working on accounting journals/reconciliations

The Company:A highly professional financial services company, this head office numbering just under 200 people, having expanded healthily over the last 5 years and this department of 21 people will be developing and expanding significantly through 2024 due to the introduction of new Treasury Management software as well as the development of their existing general ledger systems with new areas of Treasury back-office operations.

The Role:The Trainee Financial Control Accountant willreport to the Head of Financial Control. The team of 6 are responsible for the daily accounting and financial operations of the company. They liaise closely with the Treasury Team as they are responsible for the transmission and receipt of funds and the associated record keeping and accounting. The core elements of this role:

Management of the daily, weekly & monthly monitoring and reporting of our mortgage pools

Management and record keeping of daily cash sweeps between subsidiaries

Liaising with the Treasury team and external counterparties

Ongoing development & improvement of underlying data feeding into the mortgage pool data

Assistance with regulatory reporting data

Testing the upgrades to Treasury software & helping to develop broader use of the software

Assistance with ad hoc accounting journals and reconciliations

Skills / Experience Required:For this Trainee Financial Control Accountant role you must have a relevant degree along with strong analytical, numerical, communication and MS Excel skills. You should also have a willingness to train, study for the ACCA or CIMA qualifications and eventually take on further responsibilities.

Additional Information:Salary for the Trainee Financial Control Accountant role is £25,000 + company bonus, pension, ACCA/CIMA study support, life & health benefits and free car parking.
