Technical Consultant Assistant

Our client is a global player and a significant name within the UK financial services sector. One of their largest offices is in Croydon, holding several hundred staff and a need has materialised as a result of having to cover a maternity period (9 months) and there is a possibility that the successful applicant could secure a permanent role eventually.

The Company: This firm has developed to the point where they cover a wide area of financial services, they have an IFA division, produce their own products covering life, pensions, investments and at retirement markets and have a consultancy business, so there are a number of routes your career can take if you apply yourself.

The Role: This position is two fold - you will initially work within a sales support based role for the first few weeks, dealing with all aspects of new business, obtaining illustrations, overseeing member communications and helping to prepare client reports.

You will then transfer across to work as a Technical Consultant Assistant, assisting the Consultants with the pre-sale proces of occupational scheme wind-ups and project manage the wind-ups, ensuring an efficient and compliant service at all times. You will also assist with marketing and product development. Your keys tasks will be:

Project Management
* Establish project parameters with consultant, create and execute project work plans.
* Ensure all stakeholders are briefed and kept up to date with progress
* Monitor progress, update consultant and client regularly according to the project brief
* Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project and scope.

Communication
* Facilitate team and client meetings effectively
* Delivers engaging, informative, well-organised presentations
* Manage client expectations and act as point of contact throughout the process
* Holds regular status meetings with project team.
* Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information sensitively

Technical Understanding & Problem Solving
* Respond to technical queries either though personal knowledge or through application to internal and external resources
* Maintain awareness of current legislation
* Deal with member and client enquiries effectively

Marketing
* Assist with development of procedures and training
* Development of promotional tools

Skills / Experience Required: You should have at least three years’ experience in financial service administration, ideally with experience in corporate pension schemes. You will have made some CF exam progress and be familiar with current legislation and industry practice.
