Occupational Health Advisor, Hertfordshire

Are you an Occupational Health Adviser looking for a new opportunity? Are you interested in a rewarding, part time role? If this sounds like you then I would be very interested in speaking to you. I am recruiting for one of the largest insurers in the UK and they require an Occupational Health Advisor based at their Clients Site in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire. Using your previous occupational health experience you will provide a proactive and evidence based occupational health service to clients.
This is a Part Time role, working 2 days per week on a rota system between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday.

In this role your duties will include: Screening pre employment questionnaires, accepting management referrals and proactively manage individual cases, referring employees for occupational physicians, physiotherapists or employee assistance programmes and providing advice on an individual basis on all aspects of health and its effects on work. You will also be involved in identifying individuals who would benefit from health promotion. We will need you to ensure that all data entered is correct in accordance with NMC standards, you will need to liaise with mangers and human resources to share information ensuring optimum care for clients and we will also need you to maintain your current registration with the NMC. As part of this role you will manage your own case-load, undertake periodic reviews, and formulate priorities based on health needs analyses and contract requirements.
Qualifications/Education: Registered Nurse or Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Occupational Health) or a relevant degree
Knowledge, Skills & Experience My client is ideally looking for someone with case management and surveillance experience. They will need you to be proactive and to have great relationship building skills. You will be based at their client’s site, so they will need you to be the face of the company and represent us in a very positive way. The client will need to put their trust in you, and you will need to challenge them when/if necessary so building these relationships is very important. You will also need to have: Post-registration experience, knowledge of occupational health and health and safety policy, knowledge and an understanding of local government settings, influencing skills, audit skills, IT Skills – Word, Intranet, Internet, experience of managing own caseload, good communication skills, able to work independently, able to work to deadlines, team-player, self-motivated and adaptable.
